Dear Family, Friends, and Associates,

I am taking part in the 27th annual Hope in Motion (Walk, Run & Ride – Blooming Metric) event on Sunday, June 5, 2022 to raise funds to support Stamford Hospital’s Bennett Cancer Center which is celebrating its 30th Anniversary. It is hard to believe that 18 years have passed since my last chemo treatment for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. COVID has altered everyone's lives in some form or fashion and it hopefully has given us a new perspective and appreciation for life.  Cancer does not spread as wide a net as COVID but for those caught in that net the impact can be just as devastating. The goal of this fund raising is to provide those impacted with the tools and services to give them the best chance for success.

The Bennett Cancer Center (BCC’s) is accredited as a “Teaching Hospital Cancer Program” by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. This is the highest designation available to a community hospital. The center treats over 1,000 new patients each year. Cancer treatment is expensive and our goal is to improve the patient's quality-of-life with the programs offered by the Bennett Cancer Center. Through the BCC’s integrative practices, each patient is given the opportunity to participate in services that treats them holistically. These services include Reiki, message, yoga, Tai chi, exercise and education all of which are supported by funds raised through the Hope in Motion Event and mini events that happen throughout the year. With your help we hope to raise over a $1,000,000 at this year.
