Hope in Motion 2023 - Sunday, June 4th
you know what they say, "When life hands you Lemons...."
I typically say "use them in a cocktail" but this year the Bohlens are making Lemon-aid!
We are once again raising money to help patients at the Stamford Hospital Bennet Cancer Center.
I hope you will join our team by either making a donation or participating in the walk on Sunday, June 4th at Mill River Park in Stamford.
No one talks about cancer treatment like it was a fun party you can't wait to go back to but, I can honestly say that the Bennet Cancer Center Integrative Medicine program made my overall experience more manageable and dare I say enjoyable. I received services like message, Reiki and nutritional advice and support like counseling, art & music therapy. They promote mental health and a level of support you didn't even know you needed. I truly believe the extra services I received through this facility were as life saving as the drugs themselves.
Money raised at the walk pays for not only integrative medicine but expenses like rides to and from treatment, lunches during chemotherapy, and grants to help patients meet financial challenges, at no cost to the patient!!! Their goal is to help reduce stress, promote a positive attitude, decrease pain, and improve the overall quality of life for the patient and their family.
Every year when I write this email I am reminded of the weekend Sloan and I spent in the ER after my first treatment. Believe it or not we refer to it as the Stamford Ritz Carlton. We were not only taken care of but left the facility with a better understanding of what to expect in the months ahead and how to get thru it. We felt supported, loved and I will be forever grateful to this incredible organization.
